Originally from Hopewell Township, a suburb of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where she was raised in a rural farm-like setting with an appreciation for nature's bounty, after high school Rachel moved to condominium living in downtown Pittsburgh while she worked towards earning an Associate in Specialized Technology degree majoring in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
